A Warm Welcome to Brother Billy

On Friday 14th March 2008, Billy Kneewshaw took his testimony of faith (shahadah) at the IslamBradford Centre.

Billy had been working with Brother Abu Bakr Qasim (who incidentally was one of the Imams at the IslamBradford Centre in Ramadan) and had taken the opportunity to learn more about Islam. His journey was typical of that of many of those guided to the light of Islam. Alongside mixing with practising Muslims he started to study a translation of the Qur’an.

The Qur’an is truly a miraculous book worthy of further study by both Muslims and non-Muslims alike, as this is the final preserved Word of Allah. Billy noticed many things in the Qur’an, which were clear signs to him that indeed Islam was the religion of truth.

He took his Shahadah after the Friday sermon and was truly excited by the whole occasion. He genuinely wanted to make his testimony public, and show the Muslim community that he had entered Islam, and was now one of their brothers.  The brotherhood of Islam transcends, colour, culture and language and Billy expressed his happiness to be part of it.

The brothers at IslamBradford warmly welcomed Billy after taking the Shahadah.

We ask Allah to give him strength and keep him firm upon Islam and give the Muslim community the motivation to support him, and any needs he may have.
