IslamBradford Supports the Kurdish Community
On Friday 21st March 2008 the Jumuah prayer at the IslamBradford Centre was followed by a successful fundraising appeal by Masjid Salahuddin.
Masjid Salahuddin is a new masjid in the Leeds Road area of Bradford, located behind the Yorkshire bank.
The masjid has been established to specifically address the diverse and complex needs of the Kurdish community in Bradford. Recent years have seen a large influx of Kurdish people into Bradford. Unfortunately many from this community have fallen into a variety of social ills, and have been unable to access any religious and spiritual guidance from the existing masjids in Bradford due to the language barrier.
Masjid Salahuddin delivers its programmes in the Kurdish language and deals with the issues pertinent to the Kurdish community.
The masjid has been well received by the wider community. The collection at IslamBradford raised close to £500. We pray that Allah makes things easy for them in addressing many of the problems faced by their community, thereby making Bradford a better place for all.
