Welcome to Sister Saylan

Anyone who has been visiting the IslamBradford website will be aware of the many shahadahs that have taken place at the centre over the last few months.

Alhamdulillah, by the Grace of Allah another sister has just accepted Islam as her way of life. Sister Saylan Quan, originally from Vietnam, took the Shahadah on Friday 29th February 2008 just before the Jumuah prayer.

Saylan, a student at Manchester Metropolitan University, with family in Bradford, had been interested in Islam since she was 16 years old. However, it was only until last October that she started to seriously study Islam and began attending the sisters’ classes on Sundays at IslamBradford. She knew that Islam was the truth but wanted to mentally and emotionally prepare herself before taking the Shahadah. She did this through extensive reading and said that the translation of the Qur’an was a major factor in this preparation. She learnt how to perform the salah and other acts of worship prior to accepting the shahadah.

At IslamBradford the sisters organised a party for Saylan on Sunday 9th March and gave her gifts to welcome her to the community of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Commenting on this, Sister Saylan said: “I love Islam and being a Muslim, and feel really blessed that Allah has guided me and would like to thank all the sisters at IslamBradford and my close friends for the support they have given me”.

We ask Allah to keep this sister in good company always and increase her in her faith, ameen.

Assalamu alaikum

Allahu Akbar! Yet another shahadah, Inshallah this will be the impetus for those that require that final push to accept Islam. Its straight forward and easy and if anyone is thinking of doing so i'm sure the brothers and sisters at IslamBardford will be there to help.
