false The opening speech was delivered by Abu Usamah Al-Dhahabi who spoke about the concept of 'No Compulsion in Religion' drawing on examples from both everyday life and the Prophetic seerah to demonstrate that Islam was indeed the middle path. He concluded his delivery by commending the brothers and sisters on their work to establish the IBC and encouraged the audience to support IB in its 'balanced' approach. The second speaker, Imam Imran Nauth spoke about the trials and tribulations of the Muslims and urged them to return to the Qur'an and Sunnah as the divine solution. He also reiterated Abu Usamah's call to support the da'wah in Bradford and advised the audience to concentrate on learning the basics of their religion. The closing address was made by IB Chairman, Brother Masood Chowdhury who presented a plotted history of Islam in the UK and Bradford, emphasising that the establishment of the IBC was history in the making for Bradford's 87,000 Muslims. The finale of the event was Asr prayers and dinner. Activities at IBC Update: a) Friday Prayers: Friday Prayers will be held every week at the IBC between 1-15pm and 1-45pm. b) Drop-in-Surgery: The IBC will also be holding 'drop-in surgeries' between 10am and 3pm Wednesdays to Sundays. These surgeries will offer an opportunity for non Muslims to find out more about Islam and also for Muslims to seek Islamic advice/counselling. The official launch of The IslamBradford Centre (IBC) took place on Sunday 23rd July 2006. All praise is for Allah, the launch was a great success with around two hundred and fifty people attending to witness the start of a new-era for the English speaking Muslim community in Bradford.
