Alhamdulilah more than two hundred sisters attended the Janazah Workshop on Sunday 12 May 2013 delivered by Umm Ayesha at IslamBradford. The workshop started with the beautiful nasheed Laysal al-Ghareeb which talks about death followed by its translation. It is said to have been penned by the grandson of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). This was followed by a reminder on death and the importance of having a good ending to your life. The fiqh of Janazah was demonstrated using the help of a young volunteer who went through the motions of being washed and shrouded. The workshop was highly practical in nature and had many of the audience weeping. Anyone who missed the presentation can download the course notes here. May Allah accept from all.
