IslamBradford was founded 2004 to convey the true teachings of Islam in the English language in Bradford. The initial IslamBradford Centre opened in the same year at York House on 249 Manningham Lane.
On 23 July 2006, IslamBradford relocated to its existing leased premises on Preston Street and enjoyed considerable success in establishing itself as a centre of excellence in da’wah.
The search for a permanent centre commenced in around 2007.
Over the years, we have viewed countless properties, but we have always had complete trust in Allah that as long as the intentions were for His sake alone then eventually we would find the right base. At the top of our specification, above all else, was that the building should be within close proximity of our current centre of eight years and have excellent parking provision. When we saw 1 City Road come up for auction, formerly Bradford City Council's Youth Service Headquarters, we had a good feeling about it from the very outset. The location was far superior to our existing one, it boasted its own car park with 28 spaces and there was potential for future expansion.
